Our humble little bungalow in Highland Park has a really great fig tree in the back yard that produces a ton of fruit in the summer. For the past few weeks, I have been eating my share of figs and after adding them to my smoothies and salads, I wanted to explore the other ways that I could utilize this amazing fruit. I decided to make a super simple face mask to help combat the dry skin that I am experiencing due to this extremely dry Los Angeles summer. In addition to all of the benefits of honey (think pore cleansing and moisturizing) the figs are rich in vitamins and minerals and are great for skin rejuvenation.
I have to warn you, to say this looks unappealing when applied would be a huge understatement but the results are a smooth, shiny face so it is well worth it.
Fresh Fig Mask Ingredients:
1 fresh fig
1 teaspoon of honey
Mix fig and honey together and apply to face. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse well.
