Savory Bruschetta Recipe From Household Mag

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone!  Today's Sunday Supper comes from a teeny kitchen in Brooklyn, New York.  If you aren't familiar with Hailey Andresen and her inspiring blog Household Mag, I encourage you to pop over and check it out.  She offers a genuine perspective on mom life in the city, introduces great neighborhood recommendations and creates delicious recipes.  Also, the photography is stunning and her baby Owen is the cutest.  Household Mag has quickly become one of my favorite reads and I am stoked to feature this savory bruschetta which will be a perfect offering for our Super Bowl gathering.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 SLICES OF AN ITALIAN BAGUETTE
  • 1 AVOCADO
  • 1/2 PINT OF CHERRY TOMATOES, QUARTERED
  • 1 CLOVE OF GARLIC, PRESSED
  • JUICE OF HALF A LIME
  • 1/4 RED ONION, FINELY CHOPPED
  • 1 TABLESPOON CILANTRO
  • 1 TABLESPOON OLIVE OIL
  • SALT

Process

  1. Combine avocado, lime & garlic until it resembles a guacamole-like consistency
  2. Combine tomatoes, red onion, olive oil & a dash of salt
  3. Set oven to broil and toast your Italian bread slices for 3 minutes
  4. Remove toast from the oven and let cool for a couple minutes
  5. Spread your avocado mixture on each slice
  6. Top with your tomato mixture + add salt to taste
