Nothing says celebrate like a nice glass of bubbly and this Mother's Day I am hoping to make this recipe for some of the ladies in my life. I had a bunch of organic berries from the farmer's market so made a berry simple syrup. This is an easy way to spruce up a simple glass of champagne and can be done with any fruit. I do love using berries because the result ends up looking so pretty and moms love pretty things.
Berry Simple Syrup
- 1 cup mixed berries (I used black berries, raspberries and strawberries)
- 1/2 cup sugar in the raw
- 1 cup water
- Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer on low for about 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool
To serve this cocktail, pour a tablespoon of the simple syrup into the bottom of a champagne flute. Top with bubbly and garnish with a fresh berry.
